AQUA TRAINING. WATER BUILDS YOUR MUSCLES!

Exercises in water involve all muscle groups and are a great alternative to the usual exercises on ‘land’. Don’t think that this type of exercise is just splashing about in water. Try and overcome the resistance of water, whilst keeping afloat and in addition to that trying to listen to the instructor…it is definitely not as easy as it seems.

Even athletes who are professional swimmers, appreciate the effects of aqua training and aqua aerobics. If you can’t swim, this kind of training is exactly what one needs, as it teaches you to control your body in a ‘weightless’ dimension. Anyone can take up aqua training: People of all ages can engage and who are at different levels of experience, Illnesses that are concerned with veins, spine and joints as well as recovery from injuries are not a limitation to water aerobics, unlike conventional training.  

A set of exercises in the pool which require no support under the feet create an increased locomotor activity. A coach on the side by the pool will show and tell the techniques of each of the exercises for back muscles, the buttocks, abdomen and leg and arm muscles. Thus your joints will not feel any pressure due to a decrease in body weight in the water, which actually increases their functionality. 

Whilst exercising regularly, your skin becomes more firm and elastic, as the water creates a massage effect. Metabolism works at its highest potential; blood cells receive more oxygen which helps to break down fat. Exercises in water burn 1.5 times more calories than land exercises, so the pool is recommended for weight loss and women who suffer from cellulite. In 40-60 minutes of exercise, your body loses up to 700 calories as energy is used to maintain a constant body temperature. Isn’t this a perfect reason to engage in aqua aerobics regularly and lose weight?

Immerse yourself in the water of the pool; the free floating effect that the water gives you is in itself acts as an anti-stress factor. Water reduces the activity of the nervous system and thus takes away stress, associated with thought processes and the making of important decisions. Buoyancy relieves muscle spasms and tension and allows the body to move freely and easily.
