Pilates. A healthy lifestyle.
Pilates was developed as one area of fitness training method as well as a serious rehabilitation programme. The founder of this training method is Joseph Pilates who stated that ‘This system is designed to help you regain your natural flexibility and grace, as well as provide you with skills that will certainly affect your gait and posture when you rest and how you work’.
A healthy lifestyle philosophy of Joseph Pilates is primarily a balance between mental and physical qualities. Being healthy – is the ability to be alone with yourself; to remain calm at the expense of muscle and mind connection. Pilates revitalises the spine and the joints, develops flexibility and balance, improves posture, strengthens your core muscles, develops good cardiovascular and breathing systems, reduces stress and promotes weight loss by defining your body’s natural curves, in turn giving your muscles a more elongated shape.
There are 3 main types of exercises of Pilates:
Pilates Mat – basic training, a practical acquaintance with its methods and basic principles of Pilates during which you will receive full, comprehensive training.
Pilates Props – the next level of Pilates Mat workout using small equipment (balls, rolls, isotonic rings, etc).
Reformer – an exercise where you will learn how to work the Reformer exercise equipment and learn basic exercises.
The Pilates room in BALANCE fitness club is equipped with small and large equipment called Pilates Plus.
The very first Pilates equipment is considered to be a bed with springs attached for the seriously wounded soldiers, which Joseph tried to heal. His modified version of Pilates Cadillac Full Trapeze Table has become a recognised leader among the large Pilates equipment because it combines a classic Cadillac and a Reformer. Under the supervision of an experienced coach you have a unique opportunity to test this equipment for yourself.
In addition, there is the most compact Pilates chair which is presented
in the Pilates room. Joseph Pilates set out to create a small sized equipment
that will fit even in a very tiny New York apartment and he did the job very
well! The most basic Pilates equipment is actually meant to be used to perform
